HI THERE! I'M KIRSTY
Welcome to Muddling Through Motherhood!
I'm Kirsty, I am 30 years old, married to a tradie and a mum to two adorable little girls, Indiana who is my crazy toddler and Audrey who is my 'big girl' in kindy, preparing for school next year! We are your typical Aussie family, my two girls, as you can see, don't sit still and keep me well and truly on my toes, we love the beach and to take trips and to find fun and different things to do and keep us entertained.
I primarily am a stay at home mum to my girls but I also am about to undertake a Bachelor degree and also own and run a small handmade children's accessory business I started last year called Indi and Moo. In additon to this I have also been a professional makeup artist and modeled for over 15 years, as a result I have picked up some really great tips along the way!
I hope you enjoy this site and find it handy. I have started MTM (look at that my own little acronym haha) mainly because I need somewhere to collate all my thoughts and lessons I have learnt on my little adventure through parenthood. My friends and family and other mummas often share great tips, hacks, recipes and advice with me which I love and find handy but then one day I just up and forget a wonderful piece of information because my brain actually belongs to two little people and their demands. I am often left scratching my head really wishing I could remember what or even WHO told me how to get that stain out or that great app for reading or even that recipe I once made up that my kids loved and for the life of me have no idea what it was! I can't be the only one who's brain just does not seem to retain information yet knows all the words to every single Wiggles song every released... right? So hopefully this will not only serve as my online memory bank but also be useful for other mummas too.
It is quite daunting starting a blog and putting yourself out there in such an open and honest way, I have been playing with the idea of starting a blog for years after being encouraged and had the idea suggested to me by many friends and professional influences over the years I have finally decided to just bite the bullet and do it. This blog will not only be tales from motherhood of my on experiences but I hope that you guys will feel comfortable to share some things too! I have learnt so much from other mums and dad's and of course grandparents along the way and would love to hear what you guys have to say! I want to include everything from gorgeous handmade stores and bargains to meal plans, recipes, games and activities for the kids to beauty and fashion advice for us time poor mummas. So settle in, grab a cuppa and enjoy. xx
